One of the two genus of leafcutter ants in the country; Acromyrmex can be identified from the closely related Atta genus by seen four pairs of spines and a rough exoskeleton on the upper surface of the thorax compared to three pairs of spines and a smooth exoskeleton in Atta

Habitat:

Rainforest

Notes:

The specimen on this picture is feeding on guava.
