Field Notes

Description:

Coreidae; Coreinae; Homoeocerini; Homoeocerus puncticornis (Burmeister, 1834). When I spotted this Leaf-footed bug, it was side-by-side with a small Jumping Spider (a female Telamonia masinloc Barrion & Litsinger, 1995). They were so close, and seemed to following each other around the plant, that I thought there might be some strange species interaction taking place. So, I brought out my camera to take some pictures. From then on, they mostly kept a distance from each other. and I barely managed to take one photo (the last) which included the spider. So, no interaction, just coincidence, but I thought I would show the picture anyway.

Habitat:

Spotted in our backyard on a Fragrant Premna (Premna odorata) locally called Alagaw. Plant identification from - http://www.stuartxchange.com/Alagaw.html
