Description:

UPDATE: Thanks for the correction, J! Looks like this is a simple leaf-footed bug specimen, not a western conifer seed bug!

---------

Duller and browner than most of the photos I've seen of brighter, redder specimens. Is that perhaps a winter thing?

I can't think of what else this could be, considering I know western conifer seed bugs do live in this part of Texas. But I'm open to suggestions.

Habitat:

Across the United States, most common in Florida. Invasive species in Europe.

Notes:

Found hanging on the window screen at my parents' house.

It is a possibility, though in Acanthocephala declivis, you cannot see the black and white spotting on either side of the abdomen.
Do you think it might be Acanthocephala declivis?
Thank you, J! Which do you think it is?? I'm struggling to find a match.
Nice! In the leaf-footed bug family, though not the WCSB. You can read more here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/93/bgpage
