Field Notes

Description:

Large brown bug. White band across top of wings. Rear legs have leaf like mid section.

Habitat:

Found in vegetable garden.

Notes:

Observed with one or both rear legs held vertical. I spotted this specimen holding it's legs like this the last two mornings. I see this species all the time and have never witnessed this before.
