Field Notes

Description:

Tiny leafhopper with distinctive bright orangish-red and yellow coloration. It's name "tunicarubra" means "red cloaked" or "red coat" (a pretty accurate description I think).

Habitat:

Rural yard.

Notes:

Attracted to the outside lights at night. This one was a difficult one for me to ID. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture. I only had a moment to get a shot before it flew off.
