Description:
Large moth, white head and furry thorax with six black spots. Abdomen is black with white hair-like scales. Forewings are whitish, long and narrow, with numerous black spots or black spots with white interior spots, arranged in rows along the veins. Hindwings are translucent, except in the anal area, with small black spots.
Habitat:
Decidous forest road. The larvae feed on the wood of various deciduous trees and shrubs.
Notes:
We saw two individuals that evening, one of them slightly larger. Probably the first one was a female, can't tell for sure but it was quite large. They came to our light bulbs and stayed for a while.
