Field Notes

Description:

Whitish to cream-colored above, forming a semi-circle hard carpophore, some 20cm large at the base - we could not approach the log from the other side to see underneath the fungi...

Habitat:

Wooded zone, mixed woods but deciduous tree in majority. Banks of river Rhône, protected natural reserve.

Notes:

I just changed the ID here (I previously thought it was a Dryad's Saddle) but I'm still not so sure and would welcome suggestions if anyone thinks otherwise...
