Field Notes

Description:

Dark brownish red mayfly with transparent wings, legs and "tails".
White big eyes that is larger than the head itself.
This one is less than 2cm, excluding its cerci.

Habitat:

Their larvae lives in streams and other fresh water bodies.
Adults wander away to look for mates.

Many Mayfly species here have big round eyes like that. Looks like the eyes of a Barreleye fish isn't it.
I've never seen a Mayfly with eyes like that! Amazing.
