There are no ornamental pineapples. They are all edible. Once full grown you can eat these. All pineapples come from a base plant. You can cut the tops with the leaves from the fruit and plant it in your garden. It takes two years for the tops to produce fruit. Everyone in a semi tropical environment should plant the tops in their yard so that over time they will produce their own fruits
