Description:

I think this may be a mockingbird baby. Found him on the ground, no visible nest, no squawking mother. Placed him in a basket, hung basket from a branch, hoping for the best.

Karen, this is not a common crackle. I believe it is, in fact, a mockingbird. Sorry for the delayed update. I'm not on the site very often.
Please update the common & scientific names now that Liam has taken the time to ID this for you.
Sure looks like a Mockingbird. Has he/she been calling at all?
