Field Notes

Description:

very tiny, just a few mm. Folded length 3.75mm, body length <3mm, wingspan 6.25mm.

Habitat:

Balcony, attracted from surrounding countryside by night light, limestone outcrop in foothills of Los Serranos mountains.

@Jaguar61, when I said tiny I meant just that. I have added the measured sizes in the description above. Sod webworm moths average 12mm body length and 20-25mm wingspan, so about 4 times the size of this one. Since moths emerge from a pupa as adults their size does not change much, and many of them do not even eat as they do not have mouth parts!
I believe it is a Sod Webworm Moth. You may want to look up that species on the web and compare to be sure.
