Field Notes

Description:

Like a shriveled seed pod of sorts.

Habitat:

On a leaf. Potted plant under Polyalthia trees. Office garden. It looked like a dried up seed pod and I thought...Whoa! There is nothing HERE that could dry up and look like this. It was ONLY through the camera that I realized it was a moth. I plucked the leaf and brought it into the sunlight to photograph it better... and was finally convinced when it flew away.

Notes:

Shield bug mimic. Leafroller moth.
