Description:

It is found in the oriental region and Australian region mainly in Moluccas and the island of New Guinea. The dark grass-brown, is a butterfly found in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Australia. The butterfly has historically been called the "nigger", but it has been renamed in Australian faunal works to the socially acceptable name of smooth-eyed bushbrown

Habitat:

Very commonly found in the Southern half of the country up to an elevation of around 5000 feet from the sea level. Even though it gets scarce to the North, it has been observed flying to North. They are encountered in virtually any area that has dense vegetation. Also are considered as “all whether” butterflies. They fly to Southern India.
