Description:
The olive leaf fig is named for the leaves which resemble olive leaves. However, this common fig species is highly variable with many different morphs. This morph that I found have elongated thick oval leaves instead. It grows as a short shrub or small epiphyte usually less than 1m tall. Fruits are smooth and hard, about 1cm in diameter. The black rounded things are gall containing fig wasp cocoon.
Habitat:
Growing on the forest floor in the montane rainforest of Sabah.
