Description:

Brownish-beige mottled bird with black beak and buff/beige-colored breast ~ 0.25 m tall.

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood on insular tropical upland plateau.

Notes:

Spotted in a grassy area on a school campus. Known locally as "kolea", this species winters in Hawaii and is quite common during winter months. This spotting is a female.
