Field Notes

Description:

Alydidae; Micrelytrinae; Leptocorisini; Leptocorisa acuta (Thunberg, 1783).
This bug is considered to be a serious pest of rice crops in this part of the Philippines.

Habitat:

Spotted in our backyard, in an area which was formerly a rice field. It was in tall grasses, some of which are residual rice growth now intermingled with wild grasses.
