Field Notes

Description:

Beautiful green and brown Stink Bug, 8mm to 1 cm long. The underside of the bug has 3 rows of white spots on the abdomen. The antennae are bright red. The proboscis extends clear onto the abdomen when at rest (see pictures 4 & 5). The last 3 pictures are of an individual photographed in the same place on 24 April 2019. Family Pentatomidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
