Description:

This is a small salamander (4.2 cm snout to vent) that has a broad head, truncated snout and bulges below each eye. It has typical short salamander-legs and the body is uniformly brown.

Habitat:

Photographed near a stream in the Amazon rainforest in SE Ecuador (625 masl)

Notes:

Fascinating, seldom seen creatures that are really hard to spot.
