Description:

During Alaska's 9.2 earth quake in 1964 large amounts of land was lowered causing trees to be exposed to salt water. These petrified forests stand as natural monuments of the disaster.

Habitat:

Near Alaskan ocean banks.

Notes:

Illegal to cut down. Wood is useless to extract.
