Description:

Phragmites are tall thin reed like plants. They are very common for our area. They are bright green during the summer. In winter the leaves turn to a light brown almost gray color and the plant looks dead. They have a rough texture with a soft feathery plumes.

Habitat:

Phragmites are a plants that are found in wetlands in temperate areas. They are an invasive species and were thought to have been brought from Europe where they still thrive today. These plans are commonly spotted in

An interesting fact about Phragmites is that when they catch on fire they burn extremely hot.
