Description:

More familiar with the White Pine with its long needles shown in the back of image three, this is a Red Pine with shorter needles from 4-6 inches. Needles bunched near branch tips; bark flakey, needles in twos, flate plates (mature). I shall return to find cones so I can be sure of the ID.

Habitat:

sandy soils, rocky slopes
