Description:
Hypocysta contains 12 species (Wikipedia). Butterflies of this genus are commonly known as "ringlets". They are not common and are generally seen flying singly near the ground at the margins of the forest. Hypocysta isis pelagia is found near Jayapura. (Gotts and Pangemanan, 2001).
Habitat:
Spotted on low vegetation along a transect in secondary coastal lowland mixed freshwater swamp forest/sago swamp forest.
