Description:

Perichares is the genus. Several reputable web resources suggest there is a complex that needs to be sorted out taxonomically, and one site mentioned Ecuador individuals as being especially problematic. Maybe just best to label this one Perichares philetes species complex.

Habitat:

This beautiful Ruby-eye was perched in cloud forest habitat, not far from the Tandayapa River.
