Field Notes

Description:

I noticed this tiny bug (about 4mm long) because of the interesting wing colours and patterns. The behaviour of this critter was so much like a wasp... searching... feeling... and quite fast.

Habitat:

Exploring heavily creviced bark on a very large eucalyptus in outer suburban back yard.

Notes:

Amazing. It's not a wasp but a broad headed bug. Thanks Martin and Stephen for direction.

Thanks guys. Yes Martin - your 'Popeye' bug. You're making me feel bad for a poor shot - I can't see those fabulous front femurs so clearly.
You may recall seeing this once before... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/21394252
