Field Notes

Description:

The bee has a lenght of only 7 mm. The head has a long stripe on temples back of eyes. Two spots on the forehead in front of the ocelli. A hat-shape mark on the face with a transverse line above this. A band along the inner orbits narrowed posteriorly and extending to beyond the insertion of the antennae. A few species look similar, but Ceratina hieroglyphica is the most common. Ceratina philippinensis and compacta also look like this spotting.

On the rooftop.
