Description:

I initially thought this was a tick...the flattened abdomen misled me. Then, the spider spotted me and looked straight into the lens (third photo) and I realized it was a spider,not a tick. Pretty strange looking though.

Habitat:

Urban garden. On a Heliconia plant.
