Description:
About .5 cm in length This is what appears to be a very young nymph and they are very difficult to ID. The second photo shows the typical foam "spittle" that this froghopper makes to keep from drying out and to reduce the likelihood of predation.
Habitat:
I photographed this individual on a white pine growing in a suburban yard next to a deciduous forest.
