Description:
These mushrooms perfectly exemplify persistence, and were covered in snow. Delicate fruiting bodies that were 1-2 cm wide. They had fuzzy, white upper surfaces and gill-like folds on the under surfaces. The gills ranged in color from white to brown depending on age.
Habitat:
Growing on rotting wood in a mixed forest.
Notes:
Although it is considered inedible in the United States and Europe, this species is widely consumed in other parts of the world. Also, it may have immunomodulatory, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
