I think they are such great garden plants - they're not fussy at all about soil types & provide a real splash of color in the shade!
I think you're right, Karen. Most of the Euphorbias I've known have been larger & showier, but I see that they vary quite a lot. This one is a woody perennial.
It's an euphorbia of some kind. Difficult to say which as there are many similar looking species. Lovely spot!
