Field Notes

Description:

These frogs were small. One frog was a lime green (gold color in light) and the other frog was olive green.

Habitat:

Squirrel tree frogs are often found in "small ponds, large lakes, marshes, and streams. These little tree frogs were found in an electrical box at our campsite in St Bernard State Park in Louisiana. They seem to prefer the dark because when we put the light on them, they dropped to the ground. These frogs were everywhere because there was a lot of loud singing in the marsh around us. Truly enjoyable.

Thank you Ashley for this suggestion. I had never heard of the squirrel tree frog and the frogs I have spotted do look like them. Thanks again.
