Habitat:

spotted in front yard of residence

Notes:

I have seen this behavior in dogs before but never in gray squirrels. This little fellow climbed down an oak tree to a bare patch of dirt and began to dig furiously to cooler sand below. He then rolled about before pressing his belly to the cool dirt. He repeated the process several times until he was frightened back up the tree. (a testament to how hot it's been here)
