Description:

The squirrel tree frog can vary in color from brown to yellow-green to green. It is one to one and a half inches in length. It may have a light stripe running from under its eye along its jaw. It may also have a dark mark between its eyes and it may have dark spots on its body. It has large toe pads that help it cling to trees. The squirrel tree frog gets its names from its squirrel-like call.

Habitat:

Found throughout Florida and in the Keys on buildings and in shrubs and trees in urbanized and natural areas, including hardwood hammocks, bottomland and floodplain forests and swamps, pine-oak forests, and pine flatwoods. Overwinters in groups under loose bark and in tree holes. Breeds in shallow, temporary pools of water that lack fish, including marshes, wet flatwoods, and flooded ditches; prefers open wetlands.

Notes:

This tree frog was found outside a house near the driveway. It was very sedate
