Field Notes

Description:

The shell of this mollusk is thin and delicate, smooth, oval and inflated with a depressed spire. The aperture is longer then the shell and is rounded at both ends, narrow posteriorly and flaring anteriorly. The lip is thin and slightly constricted centrally.

Notes:

Spotted this in about 30m of water at Dayang Beach, Talikud Island. It measured 2cm long.

(Not 100% sure if this is Bulla striata.)

Thanks, martinl! Now I have a lead. :) Thanks, pmbagga!
I think this is a bubble shell. Here is one similar. http://www.mitchellspublications.com/guides/shells/articles/0062/ You should also consider a juvenile cowrie. These look similar before their mantles curl and thicken. http://s14.invisionfree.com/Conchologist_Forum/ar/t1926.htm
