Field Notes

Description:

These flowers were about 4-6 feet tall, in a patch in a wooded area in the Bangor City Forest. They came up the next season as well. I think the city might have messed around with that little piece of land after that.

Notes:

The flower its self was as large as about 5- 6 in. wide. Overlapping of petals creating a layered look. Leaves long, narrow, toothed with a pointed tip. I have not been able to positively identify this flower using my guide books. There are many that look like it, but as to which it is... ?
