Sweet Melon

Hi Nitch,,I'm really interested in your autopot project, I have been browsing many autopot golden melon project around the net and find that most of it using polybag filled with growing medium on top of their autopot. Since I saw none of your autopot using polybag filled with growing medium on top of it,,I would like to ask a few question. 1. What's the difference between using and not using polybag filled with growing medium? 2. What is the temperature of the nutrient solution inside the autopot in the middle of hot summer day? 3. Did you have problem with gummy stem blight (since your melon crown will be wet all the time)? 4. Did you get fusarium wilt attack? I stayed on Biyadoo in the South Male Atoll 28 years ago and the staff were growing some salad crops in the centre of the island (atoll)
