Field Notes

Description:

A tiny brown Leaf Beetle, 3 mm long. It has amber colored transparent elytra which allow visibility of the folded wings below. The hind femora are enlarged for jumping. Family Chrysomelidae.

Habitat:

Found on bushes along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, Km 18.5, 1164 meters.
