Description:
The tree marigold plant that I found was growing in the grass next to a rock wall. The tree marigold is an annual or perennial subshrub. The stem of the flower was about 2 millimeters thick, and was a dark green with little fuzzy hairs on it. The face of the flower was about 3 centimeters long, with about 15 yellow flower petals. It is a weed that has become an alternative to synthetic fertilizers.

Notes:
It is native to Mexico, and it has been recently shown to be an affordable alternative to expensive synthetic soil. The tree marigold is used as synthetic soil because it can increase plant yields and the soil nutrients of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
