Description:

I think this was a red ear slider but it was in a pond in Zagreb, Croatia so if it was it would be a invasive species any thoughts?

Yes, I am pretty sure this is a red ear slider, Trachemys scripta elegans, which are as you wrote, invasive. There are many of them in Slovenia as well, threatening our indigenous european pond turtle (Emys orbicularis).
