Field Notes

Description:

The biggest were about a meter in length (counting in the tail). They had short, tannish fur with lighter bellies. Their faces were mostly smooth, but some seemed to have mustaches.

Habitat:

After much search of the trees, I first spotted these monkeys climbing along a much easier path - power lines. Living on a tree-covered island, these monkeys come down to the edge of the trees, where the road around the island is, and human-watch.

Notes:

These monkeys could be quite loud when they decided to scream at each other, which made it all the more surprising to watch some tourists walk right up to them and try handing them bananas - made for some good pictures, though.
