Field Notes

Description:

Brown and tan weevil, 8 mm in length. Covered in dense hair, scales and spines. It was missing part of one antenna. Family Curculionidae, Subfamily Cyclominae.

Habitat:

Found on the ground at night, camouflaged in the soil. Semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
