Description:
A large swarm of wasps at the beginning of a tree branch. They may have been preparing the brach to build a nest. Paper wasps secrete a chemical which repels ants, which they spread around the base of the anchor to prevent the loss of eggs or brood.
Habitat:
Bittern Marsh Trail next to the river at Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area.
