Field Notes

Description:

Bulky Weevil, measuring about 15mm from snout to the tip of the abdomen. Its thick shell reminded me of car tyre tracks. The snout is broad and thick, the thorax extends laterally and narrows towards the abdomen. Its quite difficult to make out among the dirt and little stones and rocks of the area.

Habitat:

Shrubland, 7-8km inland from the ocean in a rural area.
