Field Notes

Description:

This small deep brown weevil was about 5 mm long. It had a lighter shade of brown along the shoulders and at the apices of a deeply ridged elytra.The beetle was covered with short stiff hairs.
The rostrum pointed downwards and antennae rose from the distal part of the rostrum.

Habitat:

Spotted on a fresh young shoot of a eucalyptus tree - probably yellow box in a suburban garden.

Notes:
