Description:

A red dragonfly with a black tail and white face (male)

Habitat:

On plants along a mowed (grassy) trail within 1/2 a city block from a fresh water lake (Lake Emma), a marsh and woods

Species ID Suggestions

Jakubko-We do have Dot-tailed White-faced dragonflies here as well as the Belted White-face; apparently the "cells" don't always match the ID. See: http://bugguide.net/node/view/422436 To be completely honest, the cells (how many, where they're located and what the "cell" even is) are beyond my understanding. Perhaps for now I'll just post it under Whiteface Leucorrhinia...?
I now think this may be L. glacialis rather than L. proxima due to the appearance of double-celled veins that are characteristic in the ID. However, I am not sure and it might be best to verify this before accepting the ID.
