I like bugs and arachnids. Beetles are my favorite, and I’ve rehabbed a few different types of injured, hungry, or dehydrated mini animals; banded Adler beetles have a special place in my heart, only because I fed and watered one on my patio, who left and came back to me several times in one summer. I have limited experience with praying mantis, caterpillars, moths, lady bugs, “shining” beetles (I don’t know their official names), and various types of jumping spiders. My hope is that project Noah can help me find my passion, learn more about it, find other people with similar interests, and potentially build a career out of what I learn here and elsewhere. I currently am working with what I think is a buttonhook leaf-beetle jumping spider, who is creating hammocks, but still attempting to hunt while inside of them. They’ve been scratching at their exoskeleton, perhaps planning a molt? Maybe preserving energy, time and research will have to tell.
