Find 5 unique species on the ICA campus before May 20th. (100 points total)
Each species is worth 10 points. The description & location for each species is worth 5 points. The description must include as much taxonomic information as possible (kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species). The location should be descriptive enough for some one here (AKA me) to find it.
The final 25 points can be accumulated in various ways:
5 pts for each unique Kingdom
3 pts for each unique Phylum
2 pts for each unique Class
5 pts for trees or shrubs in flower
2 pts for fern "fiddle heads"
2 pts for monocot flowers
2 pts for dicot flowers
5 pts for aquatic life
This is a Spring Bio Blitz for the ecology classes at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Students are challenged to find 5 unique species before school ends.
