Parkview Elementary Backyard Explorers

1. With the help of parents, students will explore their backyard (or nearby park) and locate and photograph 2 different types of plants and 2 different types of animals.
2. Each photograph must Include the following information:
- the classification of the animal (vertebrate or invertebrate)
- type of animal (mammal, amphibian, reptile, fish, bird, insect)
- where the animal was located (backyard, pond, park)
- Classify plants on the basis of roots, leaves, stems, and flowers. (consider color, size, leaf shape and flower type)
- Classify plants based on the type: ferns, moss, plants, conifer tree, conifer cone, deciduous tree, and shrub
3. With the help of a parent, upload the photograph to our Class Mission page. Write down the information you found out in Step 2 about your animal and plant.
4. You are finished once you have uploaded 2 photos of different animals and 2 photos of different plants.

This mission is a family event. Students must photograph or at least made the discovery of 2 different types of plants and 2 different types of animals that you find in your backyard (or nearby).
