Help us monitor and study the Treehoppers of the world. These insects of the Family Membracidae are masters of disguise and disimulation. The pronotum of the adults often resembles thorns, apparently to aid in camouflage. The pronotum may vary from a simple helmet, covering the dorsal part of the body, to elegantly bizarre shapes. They are all sap feeding and often have mutualistic relationships with other insects, especially ants. The nymphs are also extraordinary, differing from the adults in adornment and color. There are more than 3,000 known species from all continents of the world except antárctica.

If you spot a Treehopper of the Homopteran Family Membracidae from anywhere in the world, including any of the nymphal stages associated with the adults, please add our Mission to your spotting. We will attempt to help with identification and information to other scientific specialists of the Membracidae.
