Help us monitor and study the Treehoppers of the world. These insects of the Family Membracidae are masters of disguise and disimulation. The pronotum of the adults often resembles thorns, apparently to aid in camouflage. The pronotum may vary from a simple helmet, covering the dorsal part of the body, to elegantly bizarre shapes. They are all sap feeding and often have mutualistic relationships with other insects, especially ants. The nymphs are also extraordinary, differing from the adults in adornment and color. There are more than 3,000 known species from all continents of the world except antárctica.
