While general biology at NVCC is a course taught inside classrooms, the study of life or biology does not have to end outside of the classrooms. The mission of Urban Life Forms is a project to document life around us and raise students awareness of the diversity of life that they are a part of. Although many believe that the study of life, be it plants or animals, is best carried out in wooded areas, there are in actuality a vast of array of life forms in urban settings. Moreover, observing symbiotic relationships, adaptations and behaviors of urban plants and animals makes an interesting discipline of science.
For each student, please upload pictures of 10 different urban life forms you have observed. For each picture, you will be awarded 7 points for uploading the photo and 3 points for making a correct identification, asserting meaning comments or starting a discussion that other students in the class can participate in.
