Description:

Green branched lichen. Orange and white mushroom like caps.

Habitat:

Growing on the trunk of a blueberry bush.

Notes:

Lichens are a composite organism. Symbiotic organisms. Algae or cyanobacteria living among the filaments of fungi.

They are classified by the species of fungi.

The oldest known living organism is a lichen dated at 8,600 years.

Orange and white caps could be reproductive structures of the lichen fungi and or a lichenicolous fungi. Lichenicolous fungi are obligate parasites of lichens.
